I was extremely honored for even being nominated for Teacher of the Year. When my name was announced, I was even more humbled for joining the ranks of such an incredible group of teachers. During my time at Morris Knolls, I have met so many influential and inspirational people. They have aided in my professional development and supported the growth of the choral music department. I am privileged to work with an extremely talented faculty and student body, and I can attribute many of my successes to them. It has been an incredible four years, and I would like to recognize the people who have made this distinction possible:

My immediate supervisor, mentor, and friend – Susan Kanoff. She has been an avid supporter of the music department and has enriched my teaching career through her presence. I would also like to thank the rest of the administration, including Bill Cleffi, Jim Devlin, and Bill Schilling. Their support is also greatly noted.

Many of my fine colleagues deserve vivacious applause and praise for their utmost support, friendship, and inspiration. They demonstrate excellence and strive to better students on a daily basis. They are Stacy Snider, Jessica Smith, Dan Schwartz, Gretchen Gannon, Kathy Pezak, Daniel Benz, Travis Everett, Scott Gambale, Elissa Merle, Christal Rosenka, Joyce Wilson, Bill Regan, and Stephan Zdanowicz.

In the music profession, many regional and state events introduce us to other great musicians. We work closely together to ensure music is alive and present in our schools. I would like to recognize some of the many who have inspired me: Linda Clark, Donna SanGiovanni, Chris Vitale, Kara Newham, Krystal Rickard, Scott Mello, Marianne Kopetz, Carol Walker, Patty Danner, Mike Semancik, Tom Voorhis, Bev Robinovitz, and Helen Stanley.

Through support of the Booster Club, I have been helped by a wonderful group of parents for which I am indebted. I especially need to thank: Mrs. Elaine Voinier, Mrs. Anna Marie Van Eck, Mrs. Mercedes Witowsky, and Mrs. Debbie Jeckell.

Without such talented students, the successes of the choral program would not be inherent. Through dedication, laughter, tears, success and failure, I have had an incredible amount of student leaders who deserve recognition. They have not accepted mediocrity and have persevered to be the best: Rachel Clark, Anouska Swaray, Jamie Parroco, Kyle Schreiner, Desiree McMurray, Loreto Angulo-Pizarro, Tina Witowsky, Pat Lavery, Jun Yoo and Justine Magnusson.

I would like to thank some of my previous teachers and instructors who inspired me to pursue music education: Dr. Paul Head, Mrs. Lucille Kincaid (Guarino), Mrs. Debbie Gianuzzi, Mrs. Joy Allen, and Mrs. Karen Scott. These incredible people have shaped the lives of many fine young men and women and continue doing so through their teaching.

Finally, I would like to thank my family for their unconditional support. They have been here through many concerts, musicals, performances, etc. Through their guidance and knowledge, they have taught me some of the best ideals of life, education, and music.

I would like to wish the best of luck to the rest of my many students and extraordinary people who are not listed above. It is unbelievable and quite humbling how many individuals that have shaped my life, and I thank you for all you have done. These past four years have been some of the best, and I will forever cherish the memories.
