Before working at the MK Library, Ms. Petersen was a public librarian for two years and taught elementary and middle school for a combined 7 years. Ms. Petersen received a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado, an MS Ed. from Hofstra University and a Master in Library Services from Rutgers University. Ms. Petersen is the library webmaster.
Ms. Petersen has a passion for education, faciliating life-long learning and believes that teaching information literacy skills is beneficial to both the individual and our society.
Ms. Petersen is an avid hiker and enjoys practicing yoga. She is a fan of Dancing with the Stars. Ms. Petersen's hobbies include adventure travel, hiking, photography, and fair-weather bicycling and, of course, READING.
