On January 25th, the Girls Track and Field 4x800m relay team comprised of Jennifer Polanco (Grade 12), Ulana Thompson (Grade 11), Krissa Polimeni (Grade 11), and Ailis Clyne (Grade 11) qualified for the illustrious Millrose Games. This is the first time in school history that our girls have been represented at the Millrose Games. This televised event is one of the most prestigious track and field meets in the nation and will be held on February 11th at the New York Armory.
On January 26th, Travis Ellis (Grade 11) was named the Star Ledger Winter Track Performer of the Week. Travis won the 1,000-meter run in 2:39.68, anchored the winning 4x400 relay with a 52.5 split, and placed third in the 1,600 in 4:30.52 to help lead Morris Hills to the team title at the 38th Morris County Championships. Travis, also finished third in the mile in 4:20.70 at the New Balance Games in New York. Based on his season-best time of 4:20.27, Travis is the first alternate for the high school mile at the Millrose Games.
On January 26th, Joe Kleczynski (Grade 12) bowled a perfect 300 game vs. Lenape Valley en route to the Scarlet Knights first ever Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Co-Championship. This championship is shared with our sister school, Morris Knolls. Joe is the first bowler is school history to roll a 300 game. This tremendous feat puts Joe in elite company among New Jersey high school bowlers as a perfect game is a rare accomplishment. His three-game series for the match was a tremendous 735.
