MRS. VERONICA DOUGHERTY
Mrs. Dougherty started teaching at Morris Hills in January, 2005. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Fairleigh Dickenson University. She is a graduate of Lehman College, City University of New York, where she earned a BA in English Literature, and her MAS from Fairleigh Dickenson. Currently, Mrs. Dougherty teaches Literature and Language Arts, and Literature and Writing Skills. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, photography, and cooking. She also loves hanging out with her son Brian.
MS. BRIE PATTERSON
Ms. Friedrich has been teaching here at Morris Hills for four years.
She teaches Survey of British Literature, Academy English I and ESL HSPA.
She is also the co-advisor for the Interact Club and coaches JV Lacrosse.
Ms. Friedrich graduated from Douglass College with a double major in
English and American Studies and then earned her Master's degree from Montclair State University. In her free time Ms. Friedrich enjoys
traveling, reading, cooking, and yoga.
MR. ROBERT GIOVINE
Mr. Giovine teaches English Literature and Language Arts, HSPA prep courses, Modern Literature and Language Arts, and 20th Century Literature and Composition. He is a graduate of the College of New Jersey where he also played football, as well as completing his Masters at Mary Grove in Michigan. At Hills, Mr. Giovine coaches Varsity Football and is the Head Varsity Baseball Coach. In March 2000, and 2004, he was awarded Teacher of the Month for his work at Morris Hills.
MS. LAURA GRAY
Ms. Gray is in her third year of teaching at Morris Hills. She received her B.A. from Lehigh University in Psychology and English and then went on to receive her M.Ed in Secondary English through Lehigh's fifth year program. She currently teaches British Literature and Composition and Survey of American Literature and Composition. Her hobbies include: coaching field hockey here at Morris Hills, reading, and running.
MRS. RENEE LAVIN
Mrs. Lavin received her Bachelor's Degree from William Paterson University. She entered the MHRD in 1974, as a drama and literature teacher, then left to raise her four children in 1982. She continued to work with her husband, a Knolls’ English and Drama teacher, on the plays and musicals. In 2003, she returned to the district, this time, as an English and Drama teacher at the Hills. She teaches Dramatics, Theatre Arts I & II and Literature and Composition. She is the director of the fall play and spring musical and is the advisor of the International Thespian Society. Mrs. Lavin enjoys attending plays, musicals, concerts, the ballet and poetry festivals with her husband, and siblings. She especially enjoys accompanying her children, nieces, nephews and three grandchildren, Madisyn, Mia and Sophia, on outings to Central Park, the Bronx Zoo and the movie theatre.
MRS. KATHLEEN MENCONI
Mrs. Kathleen Menconi is the Morris Hills Reading Specialist. She received her Masters degree from Montclair State University and teaches HSPA Language Arts classes, and freshman Lit and Comp.
MRS. ALICIA PEPPERMAN
MS. KERRIANN ZADLOCK
Ms. Sierfeld received her Bachelor's degree in English from Rutgers University, Master's degree in Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education. This year she is teaching: American Literature and Composition, British Literature and Composition, and Mass Media and Broadcasting. Her interests are travel, film, psychology, reading and writing.
MS. SHELLEY STREED
Ms. Shelley Streed recieved her B.A. in English and Secondary Education from James Madison University, and her M.Ed. in Education Leadership from George Mason University. As well as teaching Literature and Language Arts, Survey of Literature and Language Arts, Survey of British Literature, and Language Arts, she is in charge of volleyball for both for MH, and in Denville with Allegro Volleyball Club. Ms. Streed loves to travel, having recently been to Paris, Mexico, Greece, and Italy. She is also an avid Yankees and Giant's fan.
MS. ELIZABETH TRIANTAFYLLOS
Ms. Triantafyllos is currently teaching American Lit and Composition, and Language Arts. She is an assistant coach for the Girl's Soccer and Girl's Basketball.
MRS. NICOLE CARROLL
Mrs. Carroll is currently teaching Survey of Literature and Composition, American Literature and Writing Skills, and Literature and Composition. She is the co-advisor of the Internet Club, and attends graduate school at Montclair State University.
