High School Completion Programs Adult High School
The Morris Hills Regional Adult High School is committed to providing adults (and youth 16 and 17 year old) the opportunity to obtain a high school diploma. Residents of the Morris Hills Reg. Dist. will be charged a $25.00 registration fee. Tuition for Out-of-District students will be charged a tuition fee of $250 per semester.. The program is a competency based. It consists of two sixteen week semesters with each class meeting 1 1/2 hours a week. Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A limited morning class schedule is also available. A Morris Knolls High School diploma is awarded to students who have earned a total of 140 credits in all district-required area, have passed the New Jersey High School Proficiency Assessment, and have demonstrated computer literacy.
The Adult High School program is particularly beneficial to students who have some previous high school credits. These credits in addition to other credits awarded for life experience in areas such as employment, apprentice training, military training, and college courses will give the students a strong base from which to work toward the completion of the State and District graduation requirements. SCHEDULE Most classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings and meet once a week in three possible settings: lecture, individualized instruction, or independent study. In addition, some daytime classes are available. Click To View 2008-2009 Class Schedule ATTENDANCE Our attendance policy requires students to attend at least 10 sessions of each scheduled class in order to receive credit. Special cases will be reviewed individually by a credit appeals commitee. If a student misses thirty days without a written excuse, he/she will be dropped from the rolls. FEES Residents of the Morris Hills Regional District (Denville, Rockaway Township, Rockaway Boro, and Wharton) are charged a $25.00 registration fee . Tuition for out of district students is $250.00 per semester. Payment may be made with cash, money order, Master Card or Visa. Personal checks are not accepted.
